A Most Critical Failure

The Tale of 5 young adventurers, cast together by fate, and a few online game tables....

Letter 2: By Silale

Dear Mother, Father and Thia,

Praise Corellon, we made it out of that festering hole of a dungeon. Traveling with these jokers may be the death of me!

After a brief rest after our last battles, we progressed further into the battlements. A large door was all that stood between us and daylight, that and about a dozen gnolls and goblins. Never have I heard of these beasts working in tandem. Father, what do you make of all this? My companions and I seem to think that there is some dark hand, orchestrating all of this.

I find that I do not share your “eagle eye” Mother. I know you wished to me to be a bit more proficient with the bow and arrow, but I can never seem to strike a foe. I find it easier to use my magic instead. I may ask McBrune to help me with my aim, he seems proficient enough.

We battled for our lives for hours and had a few close calls. Thankfully, Grandmother’s crest is very useful in helping me heal my friends. I tried out this new spell; I call it “Beacon of Hope”. I sort of combine the healing part with the dizzy part of my spell. I know I’m not describing this well enough. Needless to say, it worked and I helped everyone heal up and I think I made a gnoll throw up. Despite its usefulness, I doubt I’ll be using it again today…I am quite exhausted.
You will all be happy to know that I am beginning to crack away at Avenar’s tough exterior. Although he only claims to not worship any specific deity, it’s always healthy to have a good amount of faith. Maybe we could take him to a few temple sermons when we stop by?

We are back in Hillhavencrestfordshire, thanks to a well hidden tunnel. We believe that there may be a Dragonborn in trouble. Balasar is talking with him now and even though I cannot understand a word they are saying,
they seem to be hitting it off. It really looks like everything will work out and no one will get in any trouble from here on out!

Thia, thank you for speaking to the elders. Could you ask them about how long I have until the next phase? I know they don’t like disclosing this information to me for some reason, but could you try and pull it out of them? Despite what you all may think, I am going to prove that this prophecy is nothing more than gibberish.
Thank you again for the salve, my knees are not as sore. Please send an owl that does not peck at my face next time.

Love,
Silale

P.S. Have any of you heard of a Tiefling warrior by the name of Nubious? Fragment and McBrune have told me that I remind them of him. No doubt he was a brave warrior.
